Villas Sun Stone are a welcoming settlement consisting of three houses, in the heart of one of the most traditional villages of Crete, Kournas.
It has been beautifully and elegantly renovated by Krasadakis Family, in true ‘Nouveaux Cretan Traditionelle’ style, using local materials and craftsmanship, but with a modern and minimalist touch that sets it apart.
The property is an “Oasis in the Kournas” that contrasts vividly with the ceaseless activity of the surrounding nature. Its innate tranquility is enriched by the sounds of birdsong from the adjacent Olive groves.
With fresh look, elegant atmosphere, comfortable, outfitted with all modern amenities is an ideal place for relaxing holidays.
You can relax at the large terrace with the heated whirlpools area, surrounded by a colorful flourishing environment, while enjoying a nice and refreshing drink.

Kournas Village
Kournas, a quaint traditional village located 8 km from Georgioupoli and approximately 4 km from the renowned Lake Kournas, offers a charming escape from the bustling tourist hubs. While Lake Kournas may attract visitors, venturing just 15 minutes further along the narrow uphill road unveils the untouched beauty of Kournas village.
Step into a bygone era as you explore Kournas village, where time seems to stand still amidst its old houses, picturesque village square, and the rustic charm of local establishments. Don't miss the pottery workshop opposite the bustling kafeneio and the renowned Agapinakis Taverna 'Kali Kardia', known for its delectable salads and mouthwatering meats.
With a population of 500 residents, Kournas village sits at an altitude of 200 meters in the tranquil foothills of Crete. Immerse yourself in the authentic Cretan experience as you stroll through the winding streets of this idyllic village, steeped in history and tradition.
Around Kournas
Exploring the charming village of Kournas is a breeze on foot, with easy access to local tavernas, cafes, and quaint shops. However, for visits to larger supermarkets or the beach, a car is recommended.

How to get there: To reach Crete, travelers have two main options:
- By Boat: Daily departures from Piraeus port to Souda port in Chania or the port of Heraklion.
- By Plane: The island boasts two international airports in Chania and Heraklion.
Distances from key points:
- Chania Airport: 52 km (approximately 50 minutes' drive to Kournas village).
- Souda Port of Chania: 38 km (about 30 minutes' drive to Kournas village).
- Heraklion Port or Airport: 103 km (around 70 minutes' drive to Kournas village).
Directions
From Chania airport or Souda port, follow signs to the highway heading towards Rethymnon. Take the highway and exit at Georgioupolis. After 5 km, you'll reach Kavros. At the second exit, turn right at the oil station following signs to Kournas village. At the V crossroad before Kournas village, take the right road. Upon entering the village, turn left at the main village road after the church, then left again at the first road leading to the village school. Sun & Stone Villa will be on your left after 30m.
From Heraklion airport or harbor, follow signs to the highway towards Rethymnon – Chania. Pass Rethymnon exits and continue towards Chania. After the Episkopi exit, keep an eye out for Kavros on your right. At the first exit, turn left at the oil station following signs to Kournas village. Follow the same directions as above upon entering Kournas village.
